Newsletter of the Biological Survey of Canada (Terrestrial Arthropods)
The Newsletter of the Biological Survey of Canada (Terrestrial Arthropods) is published twice yearly (Summer and Winter). The Newsletter communicates information about systematic and biodiversity that may be of interest in Canada, and reports especially on activities relevant to the Biological Survey.
Arctic Insect News was published 1990 (no. 1) to 2000 (no. 11) to support the Survey’s aim of encouraging further work on arctic invertebrates. After Arctic Insect News was discontinued, the Newsletter of the Biological Survey of Canada (Terrestrial Arthropods) began a dedicated section to provide a forum for news of particular arctic interest.
Arthropods of Canadian Grasslands was published annually from 1983 to 2005 to support the Survey's major ongoing project on grasslands. Early issues helped to maintain interest prior to the active phase of the work. Project updates and new articles are now published online.
Arthropods of Canadian Forests was a product of a collaboration between Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Service and the Biological Survey of Canada, (Terrestrial Arthropods). The goal of the newsletter was to serve as a communication tool to encourage information exchange and collaboration among those in Canada who work on forest arthropod biodiversity issues, including faunistics, systematics, conservation, disturbance ecology, and adaptive forest management. As well, the newsletter supported the Forest Arthropods Project of the Survey.
